Booking before a wedding: a working timeline

Count backwards from the date. Here is the order we would run it in, and the one thing never to do in the final fortnight.

Four to six months out

This is when anything ambitious has to start — acne courses, pigmentation series, back and shoulder work. All of them need a run of sessions, and all of them look worse before they look better.

Two to three months out

Settle into a rhythm: one facial every three to four weeks, adding the neck and eye. If you are wearing something backless or off-shoulder, the back and shoulder treatments belong here.

Nothing new in the last two weeks. Nothing at all in the last three days.

Three to four weeks out

The last treatment that does real work — extraction, resurfacing, anything with a chance of a reaction. After this point we only hydrate and calm.

The final week

Hydration and gua sha only. No extraction, no acids, no first-time anything. A face massage two days before is the best thing you can do for photographs — and it is the one appointment brides tell us they wish they had booked.

Written by the therapists at Sine Beauty. Nothing here replaces a consultation — if your skin is doing something new, come and let someone look at it.
