Oily skin is not a problem to strip — it is a skin that clears quickly when the oil has somewhere to go. The work is regular clearing and keeping the barrier intact so production settles instead of rebounding.
Oil itself is not the issue — trapped oil is. When it cannot escape the follicle it oxidises, stretches the pore and feeds bacteria. So we clear thoroughly and often, rather than harshly and rarely.
The second half is restraint. Foaming cleansers and astringents strip the surface, the skin reads that as damage, and production goes up. Everything here is chosen to avoid that loop.
Every three to four weeks suits oily skin better than anything less frequent — the pore refills on roughly that cycle. Texture reads smoother from the first session.
A gel cleanser twice a day, one BHA a few nights a week, and a light moisturiser you actually keep using. Sunscreen in a fluid texture.
Washing more and moisturising less. Both raise oil production — the skin compensates for what you take away.
Most people guess wrong at least once — oily-and-dehydrated is the classic. Book any first trial and your therapist will read your skin properly before anything is applied.
